This position pays a great starting wage of $50.00 per one-hour class + food reimbursement. We offer a flexible, family-friendly schedule with no holidays or weekends. School assignments will be as close to your home/work as possible. ABOUT STICKY FINGERS COOKING

Established in select cities in Colorado, Texas, and Illinois, we offer quality enrichment cooking classes before, during, and after school, as well as birthday parties, private cooking classes, and camps for children 3-13 years of age. We have over 130 part-time employees who teach our cooking classes and camps for kids at various locations across each city. They are referred to as "chef instructors" and have their own mobile cooking kits which enable them to teach our children's culinary classes everywhere from libraries to rec centers to elementary schools and even in private homes. We strive to inspire and celebrate comprehensive education directly related to the essential role of real healthy food, cooking, and nutrition in our everyday lives.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A PART-TIME CHEF INSTRUCTOR

As a part-time Chef Instructor, you are the face of our company, getting to interact with pre-k, elementary, and/or middle school staff, parents, and students each week. You work on-site at various school locations, leading hour-long healthy and entertaining cooking enrichment classes for students. You have a great time as you participate with kids in the joys of cooking while bringing our recipes to life for them. Your enthusiasm is contagious!

Each week, you share creative recipes where you teach about new ingredients and healthy foods from all over the world in an engaging and hands-on way. Your organizational skills come into play as you review weekly class curricula and prepare for instruction which includes shopping independently for fresh and healthy food ingredients. You teach basic kitchen skills including washing, cutting, grating, stirring, measuring, nutrition, and more as well as the history, geography, and language behind recipes to kids.

You provide the direction and inspiration while the children do all the "work". You are passionate about teaching the hands-on kitchen skills required to maintain healthy food habits. You feel great about teaching simple, highly adaptable cooking skills with integrated nutrition education that will nourish bodies and minds for a lifetime.

QUALIFICATIONS TO JOIN US IN THE KITCHEN

Availability at least 2 days a week, Monday - Friday, between 2-5 pm for 1 hour long classes
Commitment to teaching 6-8 week long sessions
Current ServSafe Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain before teaching
Ability to manage and engage a group of 8-14 children
Access to reliable transportation
Any experience working with kids is a plus!

FLEXIBLE PART-TIME WORK SCHEDULE

This position offers a super flexible work schedule, typically teaching a 1-hour class at least 2 days a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 2 pm - 5 pm. We follow the school calendars so no holidays or weekends are required!
